Website and HomeShield terms
Last updated August 9, 2026. These website terms are a plain-language starting point and do not replace the signed service agreement, estimate, membership authorization, or project-specific terms.
Estimates and starting prices
Website prices are starting points, not public promises for every condition. Final pricing depends on confirmed scope, access, materials, travel, disposal, licensing, permits, and site conditions. Work begins only after the applicable written scope and approval.
HomeShield membership
HomeShield is a recurring membership billed at $59 per month until canceled. Appointments are scheduled quarterly based on availability. Members may cancel before the next billing cycle; service remains active through the paid period.
Appointments
Appointments may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice. A missed appointment without required notice may count as that quarter’s visit. Visits do not roll over beyond the membership year.
Included labor and materials
Each HomeShield visit includes up to 60 minutes of minor maintenance or handyman labor. Additional labor and all materials require separate approval. Customer-supplied products remain subject to fit, compatibility, condition, and workmanship exclusions.
Limited visual review
HomeShield observations and the Home Health Score are based only on visible, accessible conditions within the visit scope. They are not a code inspection, engineering evaluation, environmental assessment, real-estate home inspection, warranty, appraisal, or certification. Hidden defects, concealed damage, and later-developing conditions are outside the program scope.
Regulated and permitted work
Handywork Hero may decline, refer, or coordinate work that requires a permit, registration, licensed responsible contractor, specialty remediation, structural analysis, or work beyond established capability and insurance scope.
Workmanship
Eligible Handywork Hero labor may receive a one-year workmanship promise under the signed service terms. Exclusions may include customer-supplied materials, manufacturer defects, movement, moisture, abuse, concealed conditions, and work altered by others.
Legal review
Before public migration and membership enrollment, Handywork Hero should have Ohio construction counsel and its insurer review these terms, home-solicitation language, cancellation process, warranty, and liability provisions.
